ATTORNEY - Real Estate/Multifamily Housing
About the Opportunity:
Aspen Square Management, one of the nation’s largest privately held real estate investment and property management firms, is seeking an ambitious attorney with an interest in real estate to join its growing in-house Legal Department. This position is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team providing legal expertise related to a host of business issues ranging from real estate closings and transactions to landlord-tenant issues in a high-volume, multi-state organization. Responsibilities:
- Prepare acquisition and finance due diligence including title, survey and zoning/land use review
- Create entities
- Draft and review documents for 1031 exchange transactions
- Draft and review legal contracts
- Draft and review documents for acquisition and disposition transactions
- Assist with site level property management/landlord-tenant issues
- Collaborate with other attorneys and paralegals in the legal department to meet the legal needs of a leader in the multifamily housing industry.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and Law Degree
- Strong academic background (top 25% class rank and minimum GPA of 3.35 required)
- 1-3 years of experience in real estate law preferred. 1-3 years of related legal experience and evidence of taking real estate classes in law school such as taking relevant law school classes (e.g., real estate transactions, land use, taxation, advanced legal writing, and commercial real estate finance) considered.
- Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule
