Position Summary
Aspen Standard Wealth is seeking an M&A Business Development Associate to join our fast-growing Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) team. This is a dynamic role focused on sourcing new acquisition opportunities for Aspen and its existing partner firms. You’ll be tasked with building relationships with RIA owners, articulating Aspen’s value proposition, qualifying acquisition opportunities, and driving Aspen’s M&A pipeline. The M&A Business Development Associate will join a team of like-minded peers and collaborate across all functions of the firm to support Aspen’s inorganic growth initiatives. The M&A Business Development Associate will report to Aspen’s Head of Partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Build Aspen’s M&A pipeline by sourcing discussions with RIA owners via cold outreach (calls, email campaigns, attending networking events, etc.).
- Build trust quickly and effectively while positioning Aspen’s value proposition with RIA owners, centers of influence, and other stakeholders across the industry.
- Qualify opportunities by leveraging Aspen’s acquisition scorecard and assessing the financial performance of M&A targets.
- Track and manage business development activities using DealCloud, maintaining accurate records, and executing a regional coverage model.
- Summarize target information discovered through marketing materials, public filings, meetings & calls, and other relevant sources.
- Prepare materials for use in business development meetings using PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and other presentation tools.
- Stay informed about industry trends and competitive landscape through ongoing review of industry publications and periodically published reports.
Qualifications
- 1–4 years of professional experience, ideally with business development experience within private equity, investment banking, financial services, or wealth management.
- Comfortability conducting high-volume cold outreach via cold calling and emailing.
- Process- and metrics-oriented, with experience using CRMs (DealCloud and/or Salesforce) and sales engagement tools (Outreach.io).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to quickly establish credibility and trust with business owners.
- Self-starter with excellent time management skills; thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Interest in building a career within the wealth management industry.
- Must be willing to work on-premise in New York City.
Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
