FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
Applies knowledge and skills developed in field. Applies standard techniques, procedures and criteria to perform assigned tasks or sequence of tasks for projects with complex features. Able to determine design criteria, drawing sequence and presentation, sizing various system components, defining rough sketches and notes to include material quantities and equipment specifications. Implements system types as selected by the Lead Engineer and provides complete construction documents that match the client's and team's requirements. Required to complete field walk downs and make appropriate sketches. Performs assignment inclusive of planning and conducting a complete project with diverse designs. Outlines objectives, requirements and design approaches. Assists the Level II Designer as required.

- CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Completes layouts from simple to complex projects independently.
- Determines where to cut sections and select standard sections.
- Updates P&ID's.
- Selects and modifies standard details.
- Detail non-standard conditions form drawing and engineer's calculations.
- Performs simple calculations and measurements and prepares material and documents as required.
- Responsible for design criteria and order of work.
- Performs and reviews calculations, material documents as assigned by Squad Leader.
- Checks calculations completed by other designers.
- Responsible for complete drawing package and supplying to the Squad Leader after checking is complete.
- Corrects any errors or inconsistencies or design flaw that may be found during the checking process and immediately advises the Squad Leader.
- Produces complete drawings for moderate to complex work.
- Responsible that all drawings comply with client drawing standards.
- Responsible that all drawings comply with S/E internal standards.
- Corresponds as required to manage complex projects.
- Meets with engineers/clients to coordinate complex projects.
- Coordinates with team members for overall work load on assignments.
- Assists with estimates of time needed to complete projects.
- Works with drafting/design group to stay on schedule.
- Assists CAD Operators and Level I Designers when needed.
