Control Systems Field Engineers are responsible for maintaining automation systems that ensure processes and machinery operate as designed. Key responsibilities include :
- Servicing instrumentation, control valves, motors, and variable frequency drives (VFDs) : This involves conducting routine maintenance and repairs on various types of instrumentation to ensure measurement and operational efficiency.
- Designing electrical control systems : The design phase includes drafting schematics and layouts, ensuring compliance, and addressing user specifications to create a reliable and efficient control system.
- Configuring Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS) : This includes setting up input / output modules, developing control algorithms, and implementing user interfaces for monitoring and control.
- Continuously delivering automation solutions that align with user requirements and enhance system performance : This ongoing commitment involves working closely with clients to gain a deep understanding of their unique needs and challenges.
