General Description
Housekeeping/Laundry Technician is responsible for the complete cleanliness of the facility, including all common areas, offices, and patient suites; washing, drying, folding and dissemination of linens and personal laundry to the appropriate location and patient.
Physical Requirements
- Push and pull equipment
- Visual and auditory acuity with normal limits
- Lifting 10-20 lbs
- Physical and sensory requirements include, but not limited to, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing, pulling
- Ability to communicate with patients.
Qualifications
- High school education minimum or equivalent
Special Qualifications
- Must be able to relate to patients, families, and associates in a positive manner
- Must be familiar with cleaning supplies and/or chemicals and their uses
- Must possess excellent organization skills to complete assigned tasks in allotted period of time
- Must be clean, tidy and appropriately dressed
Experience
- A minimum of 6 months experience in industrial housekeeping and/or laundry services is desired, but not required
Other
- Willing to work shift assigned, weekends and holidays
- Able to follow instructions accurately
- Must be able to read, write, and follow oral and written directions in English
- Must be able to relate positively and favorably to patients and families and to work cooperatively with other employees
- Must be capable of performing the essential job function of this job with or without accommodations
