Job Description
Job Title : Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Job Specialty : Nursing - CNA

Shift : Days : 6 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Guaranteed Hours : Scheduled for around 36-40 hours per week
Experience : Minimum of 2 years required
License : CNA, RN, or EMT-B / I IV certification preferred
Certifications : BLS required, ACLS and PALS preferred
Must-Have :
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
- Knowledge of procedures, schedules, and basic medical terminology
- Ability to concentrate and show attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
Job Description :
Provide technical patient care assistance, perform receptionist and unit clerk duties as needed.Follow established policies and procedures and provide medical / nursing assistance within the scope of certification.Deliver exceptional customer service, answer phone calls, assist in maintaining supplies and equipment, and support patient activities of daily living.Prepare beds and rooms for occupancy, transport patients, and assist with procedures.Collaborate with nutrition staff and assist with patient meal ordering and cleanup.Communicate information knowledgeably and courteously with staff, patients, and families.Relay, report, and document patient information and any change in patient condition to nursing staff.Perform tasks such as collecting specimens, taking vital signs, and telemetry monitoring as directed by nursing staff.Support admissions and discharges of patients and ensure a safe and clean environment.Attend in-service training, workshops, seminars, and meetings.Assist with patient and family assessment, problem identification, plan of care implementation, and evaluation under the RN's guidance.Prioritize patient situations and take appropriate action.Communicate and collaborate effectively with all hospital team members to address patient care issues.Provide individualized patient and family education consistent with learning style and self-care needs.Evaluate the effectiveness of patient learning.Adhere to all accepted patient safety standards and promote new learning around changing standards.Record documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements and hospital policy.Demonstrate responsibility and accountability for own practice within scope.Participate in quality initiatives and departmental education.Demonstrate competency and knowledge of equipment and procedures; assist MD and RN as needed.Notify RN of any change in patient condition and prioritize workload to meet patients' needs.Restock and prepare rooms for occupancy and address equipment repair or replacement needs.Answer telephone calls and messages promptly and courteously.Perform unit clerk duties as requested and provide resuscitation efforts in accordance with BLS guidelines until relieved by a physician / nurse.Housing : Travelers are responsible for securing their own housing. Consider housing options in the surrounding towns, as prices can be high, especially in winter.
Additional Information : Must be healthy enough to function safely in a low oxygen environment (8k elevation).
