Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Development Manager to spearhead our growth initiatives within the United States Air Force (USAF) and United States Space Force (USSF) sectors in the Colorado Springs region. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of defense contracting, a robust network within the USAF and USSF communities, and a proven track record of capturing and managing business opportunities in these domains.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape within the USAF and USSF sectors.
- Opportunity Identification: Leverage industry knowledge and networks to identify and qualify new business opportunities aligned with our core competencies and strategic goals.
- Capture Management: Lead the development and execution of capture strategies for targeted opportunities, including customer engagement, solution development, competitive analysis, and proposal management.
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, industry partners, and potential customers within the defense and space communities.
- Strategic Partnerships: Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships and alliances that enhance our value proposition and competitive positioning.
- Proposal Development: Oversee the preparation of high-quality proposals, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and alignment with company capabilities.
- Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of business development initiatives and inform strategic decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of business development experience within the defense and space sectors, with a focus on USAF and USSF markets.
- Network: Established relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within the USAF and USSF communities.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of defense acquisition processes, contracting vehicles, and regulatory requirements.
- Skills: Exceptional strategic thinking, communication, and negotiation skills, with a demonstrated ability to close complex deals.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Clearance: Active security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
