About the Role: We are seeking an organized and proactive Business Development Specialist to drive business goals while maintaining strong client relationships with DHS, particularly within Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The selected candidate will develop, implement, and execute sales strategies to align with CBP’s mission of safeguarding America's borders while enabling lawful trade and travel. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess excellent organizational skills, and have a strong interest in the tactical industry. This is a full-time, on-site position with opportunities to grow within a dynamic federal contractor environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage client communications to maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within DHS CBP.
· Serve as a liaison between CBP clients and internal teams to address inquiries and concerns.
· Coordinate logistics for sales meetings, presentations, and events, including scheduling, material preparation, and follow-ups.
· Lead the development and execution of sales strategies tailored to CBP’s mission and operational needs by driving research, data analysis, and documentation efforts.
· Identify opportunities for expanding client relationships within CBP, focusing on border security, tactical solutions, and operational support initiatives.
· Maintain and update sales databases and CRM systems to ensure accurate and current client and opportunity records.
· Share insights with the sales and leadership teams to inform decision-making, particularly related to CBP’s modernization efforts and technology adoption.
· Proactively call leads and prospective partners within the CBP ecosystem to initiate conversations and build relationships.
· Qualify leads by understanding their needs and aligning them with company offerings, particularly in border security and tactical solutions.
· Schedule follow-ups and maintain detailed records of outreach efforts in CRM systems.
· Identify and establish partnerships to support business development initiatives focused on CBP.
· Organize and participate in customer meetings with CBP stakeholders to discuss needs, present solutions, and strengthen relationships.
· Prepare and deliver compelling presentations tailored to CBP’s operational requirements and objectives.
· Act as a representative of the company during client engagements with CBP officials to build trust and credibility.
· Follow up on meeting outcomes and ensure customer expectations are met.
· Manage scheduling, documentation, and reporting to support sales activities.
· Ensure timely and accurate submission of required documentation and reports.
· Work with operations, marketing, and finance to align sales activities with broader company goals.
· Support initiatives to streamline contract management and improve efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Military or government experience may be substituted at the Hiring Manager's discretion.
· 3 years of experience in government/military/sales experience with a strong will to attain goals and a proven track record of quota achievement.
· Strong organizational and multitasking skills with exceptional attention to detail.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms.
· DHS CBP service experience is highly desired.
· Familiarity with the tactical industry, federal contracting, and procurement processes.
· Experience working with DHS or similar federal agencies.
· Must be an excellent communicator both in writing and in person.
· Absolutely must be a self-starter with a will and desire to be the best at what you do.
· Knowledge of market trends and key stakeholders within DHS CBP.
