Asphalt Green is looking to hire a skilled Building Engineer for our Battery Park City location (212 North End Avenue in Lower Manhattan). We are a non profit organization focused on sports, fitness and play (please see www.asphaltgreen.org for more information on who we are). The Battery Park City site is 52,000SF located on the lower levels of a luxury apartment building. The site includes two indoor pools (6 lanes and a warm water teaching pool with a moveable floor) a fitness center, locker rooms, a teaching kitchen and multiple classrooms.
If you have real experience with commercial and/or residential facility spaces and equipment – both on-going maintenance and repairs - along with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, this may be the role for you. Familiarity with care and running of indoor swimming pools is a big plus but not required. The work schedule is as follows:

Friday – Saturday: OFF

Sunday: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM (closing shift)

Monday: 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM (closing shift)

Tuesday: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM (closing shift)

Wednesday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (mid-shift)

Thursday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (mid-shift)
Note that there is no negotiation on the schedule. Because of the nature of our business, all engineers must have some flexibility on schedules.
Qualifications
Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of Building Engineer experience in a commercial or residential building.

FDNY Q-01 Refrigerating Operating Engineer Certificate.

EPA Universal Certification for Refrigeration Materials Handling or equivalent.

FDNY S-95, S-12, and S-13 certifications to be obtained within 90 days of hire date.

OSHA 30 Certificate also to be obtained within 90 days of hire date.

Willingness to obtain Certified Pool Ops certification

Familiarity with BMS applications and operation.

Knowledge of or willingness to learn how to properly handle chemicals used in pools and cooling towers.

Ability to conduct and log periodic equipment safety inspections.

Effective communicator, both written and verbal.

Comfortable with using Microsoft computer applications.
Salary : $75,000
