What are the responsibilities and job description for the Swim School Administrator (BPC) position at Asphalt Green Inc?
Asphalt Green’s AGUA Swim Academy and AGUA Swim Team are jointly looking to hire an individual with BOTH administrative and swim coach experience. This role is a unique opportunity to apply business skills and coaching. This position is based at our Battery Park City location (212 North End Avenue) and is fully on-site (no remote work possible). The scheduled work week is Tuesday through Saturday, with Sunday and Monday off except when special events require participation.
AGUA Swim Academy provides one of the most competitive learning programs for swimmers of all ages and backgrounds, from four-month-old to elite competitive swimmers. AGUA Swim Team is Manhattan’s premier competitive swimming team and one of the top teams in the Northeast.
Responsibilities:
Support two key aquatics programs:
AGUA Swim Academy: one of NYC’s largest and most respected learn-to-swim programs.
AGUA Swim Team: a USA Swimming Gold Medal Club and Level 4-recognized competitive team.
Administrative (Approx. 25 hours/week)
Manage a high volume of calls and emails, clearly and professionally communicating with families regarding all Swim Academy programs.
Partner with the Registration department to ensure accurate enrollments, manage waitlists, and assist with transfers and cancellations using internal software.
Serve as Swim Academy social media liaison with Marketing department.
Conduct new client evaluations and orientations to support a smooth program onboarding experience.
Organize and distribute participant data.
Collect and manage instructor availability each semester; relay relevant feedback to the leadership team.
Maintain a competitive analysis of swim programming and staffing trends across the region.
Assist in planning and executing annual and monthly in-service training for Swim Academy frontline staff.
Optional - one Sunday a month to assist with in-service training sessions.
Provide on-deck support and class coverage when necessary to ensure uninterrupted Swim Academy operations.
Coaching (Approx. 10 hours/week)
Assist with AGUA Swim League practices and provide support to instructors as needed.
Serve as an assistant coach for Age Groups 1, 2 (10 and under).
Collaborate with AGUA Swim Team coaching staff in alignment with the team’s established training curriculum.
Private coaching opportunities available to supplement income.
Collegiate or competitive club swimming background preferred.
Experience in youth swim instruction and/or USA Swimming coaching strongly desired.
Strong organizational skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Salesforce.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a customer-first mindset.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a high level of autonomy and teamwork.
