Description
Asphalt Paving & Materials Company is a heavy highway paving contractor that operates in South Dakota. We are looking for motivated individuals that would like to help in our asphalt operations. We operate our plant historically out of Huron, and De Smet South Dakota.
Payment Structure
27.18-$32.00 Per Hour
Depending Upon Experience

Roles & Responsibilities
Show up to work on time and sober.
Operate the asphalt paver to apply asphalt per plan and quality specifications as instructed by your superintendent to ensure daily schedules and estimates.
Must perform additional tasks of other positions as needed and instructed by your superintendent.
Ability to operate or initiative to learn to operate other equipment required on an asphalt laydown crew.
Thorough understanding of all aspects of the paving industry and have the ability to recognize problems with preparatory work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, prior to placing mix.
Communicate with truck drivers / dumpers, using hand signals. Control pushing of a preceding dump truck to maintain flow of asphalt into hopper and thickness of asphalt installation.
Daily greasing, keeping equipment clean, and pre-start including daily fluid level checks on, oil, water, and fuel.
Be able to place and adjust all sensors that are installed on a paver.
Understand the general knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems of the paver.
Ability to precisely follow a string line to ensure that the asphalt mat is being laid correctly.
Setting the machine to maximize plant production and minimizing idle time.
