What We Are Looking For:
Under the direction of the Lead Product Manager for Application Services, the Product Owner will develop system requirements and track completion of development across all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC). The Application Services team provides support for the Policy Administration platform and configurable systems such as customer relationship management, data transport, and document creation services.
A successful candidate will be a leader and excellent communicator, take ownership of tasks and drive them to completion. They will have had experience leading a group of Product Owners or Business Analyst within an IT function and/or demonstrable experience within the Insurance domain. Experience with Annuities, Insurance products, and Policy Administration is highly desired. They will work cross-functionally with stakeholders across Aspida departments as well as with offshore development and QA. This role is located in our Durham, NC office and is required to be onsite 3 days a week.
What You Will Do:
Lead other Product Owners in managing the Annuity Policy Administration system, FAST.
Become an expert on FAST and all Annuity products, owning communication with end users.
Lead discussions with cross-functional teams to develop system requirements and coordinate with other IT teams that integrate with assigned system(s).
Directly assist with the policy administration system in any area, including but not limited to Product builds, Policy Administration, Claims, and financial data.
Refine and document requirements, tracking them across development, testing, and deployment.
Prioritize the backlog between multiple competing projects and production issues.
Drive project execution and proactively report on project progress, risks, and blockers.
Perform detailed analysis of assigned system to investigate defects and enhancements.
Create process flows for business procedures and assess potential enhancements.
Review and maintain high quality documentation in accessible format
Liaison with third party vendors, including the FAST development team

What We Require:
7 years of experience working within IT in applications support, software or database development, or requirement gathering.
7 years of experience in insurance domain; annuity/life preferred.
Experience leading Product Owners or Business Analysts in an Agile setting.
Ability to project plan, and prioritize work between multiple, concurrent projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Experience with Insurance product development and policy administration platforms, preferred
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
Track tasks and follow up with stakeholder to drive project to completion.
Manage SDLC and FAST backlog through enterprise tools such as JIRA.
Collect and document requirements through discussions with business stakeholders and technical leaders.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to establish professional relationships with and collaborate across multiple teams.
Bachelor s degree with coursework in computer information systems and technologies or demonstrated competency through related work experience.
