What We Are Looking For
This role will support the business by maintaining our Finance Systems infrastructure along with providing general project management support for Finance projects. The primary purpose of this role is to serve as a subject matter expert in the strategy, design, and implementation of finance and accounting reporting tools, data models, and data mapping within Finance. We are seeking a driven, self-starter with a solid understanding of the financial services industry. Communication skills are highly important, as well as the ability to problem solve and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role will report to the CFO and is required to be onsite 3 days a week at our Durham, NC headquarters.

What You Will Do
- Develop and maintains a Service Model plan for financial system management.
- Design change management process and streamline requests.
- Govern Finance Systems Change Management process.
- Coordinates enhancements, projects, incidents, and requests for related financial systems.
- Identify software solutions to meet requirements identified for financial reporting processes.
- Provide leadership and direction in defining financial systems roadmap for Finance team to ensure alignment with strategic imperatives and corporate goals.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to design and implement more seamless and streamlined data and process integrations between financial systems and other enterprise level systems.
- Lead the development and implementation of new and transformational financial systems, process reengineering and enhancements to support emerging business needs.
- Create enhanced automation and advanced reporting capabilities utilizing our systems.
- Drive efficiencies by eliminating manual processes through understanding of business needs.
- Conduct workshops and interviews to understand user needs, pain points, and process bottlenecks.
- Maintain optimal reporting tools and medium and high-complexity data feeds between reporting systems.
- Ensure appropriate supporting documents and decision support are maintained and documented related to reporting strategy design and testing.
- Perform user acceptance testing, implementation support, issue resolution, master data governance and mapping, end-user training, and change management.
- Develop and support recommendations to senior Accounting, and Finance leadership regarding required system, process design, related testing, validation, and configuration.
- Design, test, and implement key finance/accounting system controls focused on data integrity for system integrations, metadata governance, and reports.
- Oversee the configuration of new reporting applications, evaluates the solution to ensure the technologies meet business requirements for accounting and financial reporting capabilities.
- Monitor and takes action to make sure deadlines and deliverables are met in accordance with workstream and company timelines.
- Identify, resolve, and/or escalate key issues/risks/decisions to maintain workstream progress.
- Coordinate with business leaders to re-design Finance processes, drive business agility, process efficiency and change acceptance.
- Identify key data requirements and participate in the design and validation of data availability and mapping in new reporting applications and data warehouses.
- Drive change acceptance, articulates benefits, and designs training for core accounting and finance personnel on new reporting tools and processes with key business leaders.
- Assist end users in application/system issues.
- Provide project management support for Finance projects related to systems.
- Liaison to the application architecture, business analysts and PMO teams to ensure guidelines and process across all technology initiatives are aligned properly.
- Mentor staff and seek opportunities for staff’s professional development and advancement.

Requirements
What We Require:
- BA / BS in business, finance, or related degree
- Solid technology skills including advanced Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and financial modeling skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines
- Excellent communication, partnering, presentation and influencing skills
- Collaborative approach based on the ability to listen and value others’ opinions.
- Strategic thinker with a strong business acumen, possessing an ability to clearly articulate a plan and manage the necessary details to deliver the plan by leveraging resources across the organization.
- 10 years of relevant finance experience, preferably in insurance or financial services
- 5 Years of experience managing cross-functional teams or processes
- 5 Years of experience with maintaining external managed service teams
- 3 years of relevant implementing/enhancing/supporting one or more ERP/EPM technologies with custom software solution development. Minimum 2 full cycle implementations of end-to-end Oracle Fusion ERP applications with focus on financials Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Assets, Project Accounting, Expenses and General Ledger
- Knowledge of project management methodologies using tools like Smartsheet, JIRA, Confluence
