What We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Actuarial Valuation Leader to join our team. The Actuarial Valuation Leader will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our group wide annuity valuation processes, providing valuable insights to support strategic business initiatives and regulatory compliance. This role will lead production valuation processes to support the financial reporting process for all the entities in the group. This role reports to the Aspida Life Insurance Company Chief Actuary and is required to be onsite 3 days a week at our Durham, NC headquarters.
What You Will Do:
- Actuarial Valuation Oversight: Lead the actuarial valuation team in performing timely and accurate valuations of annuity liabilities, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and regulatory frameworks including: US Stat, Bermuda EBS, US GAAP.
- Model Development and Governance: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and enhance actuarial models. This includes providing oversight over methodologies used in calculating liabilities under regulatory requirements of multiple jurisdictions.
- Financial Reporting Support: Partner with finance and accounting teams to provide actuarial expertise and support for financial reporting processes, including preparing actuarial reports, disclosures, and supporting documentation for regulatory filings for multiple legal entities.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of regulatory developments and changes in accounting standards related to annuity valuations, assess their impact on our business, and implement necessary changes to ensure compliance.

Requirements
What We Require:
- Fellow Society of Actuaries
- 10 years’ experience in actuarial roles within life insurance industry
- Technical proficiency in actuarial software (AXIS preferred) and familiarity with data programming languages used in data analysis (e.g., R / Python).
- Understanding of actuarial principles, annuity products, US Stat, US GAAP, and Bermuda EBS
- Knowledge of reinsurance administration processes and principles.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to translate complex actuarial concepts into clear, actionable insights.
