Your Impact
As an Early Child Educator / Teacher at our First 5 Centers in the Family and Community Services program, you will utilize your experience and skills to deliver parent-child curriculum via classroom instruction, workshops, events, and activities for new parents to learn about parenting their young children. You will also help build their social supports while empowering them to become part of a strong parent community!
Your Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop family literacy, early learning, and parental education class curriculum and content.
- Prepare for and provide curriculum and activities that are developmentally appropriate for the parent and child.
- Conduct child development screenings.
- Develop and provide pre-k transition programming including parent-child interactive classes that simulate preschool experiences.
- Teach and deliver parent-child classes.
- Coordinate and facilitate events and workshops.
- Develop event agendas and assist with center calendar development.
- Monitor participant attendance, participate in evaluation of services, and support center registration.
- Serve as a member of an integrated team of teachers, outreach and engagement workers and case managers.
- Supports projects, initiatives, and / or specific program functions.
- Complete monthly report on classes delivered.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
