Your Impact
The Maintenance/ Custodian is responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of Aspiranet’s Hope Forward Campus, Stanislaus Academy, Fusion Charter and Hope Forward Learning Center, buildings, grounds, and equipment. Basic responsibilities include facility repairs, inventory management, landscaping, safety monitoring, and custodial tasks to maintain a safe and professional environment. The role requires compliance with agency policies, safety standards, and state regulations.
Your Skills and Duties
Maintenance
- Perform general maintenance tasks, including painting, basic carpentry, plumbing, minor electrical work, and equipment repairs.
- Ensure vehicles, equipment, and facilities are in safe and operational condition.
- Conduct regular inventories of agency items and safeguard resources to prevent loss or waste.
- Report needed repairs, purchases, and possible violations of state or agency regulations to the Operations Director.
- Attend required meetings and training sessions to stay updated on policies and procedures.
Fusion Charter- Custodial and Grounds keeping:
- Clean and maintain buildings, classrooms, and common areas, including floors, windows, walls, and fixtures.
- Sweep walkways, remove cobwebs, and replenish sanitary supplies.
- Water and care for plants, and perform basic landscaping tasks.
- Assist with set up and take down rooms for special events.
- Lock and secure all areas upon leaving the premises and respond to emergencies promptly.
- Report unauthorized persons on property and other security concerns.
Other Duties:
- Transport items or materials as needed.
- Ensure facilities are used in accordance with agency policies and event requirements.
- Represent the agency professionally, adhering to its values and Code of Ethics.
- Maintain appropriate boundaries with staff, clients, and community resources, ensuring confidentiality per licensing and agency standards.
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and responsiveness in all interactions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum two years’ experience in the building/maintenance or custodial work preferred.
- High school diploma required.
- Knowledge of janitorial supplies, safe use of chemicals, and basic maintenance tasks.
- Ability to perform the following tasks preferred: painting, basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, landscaping maintenance.
- Meets all state required conditions of employment as set forth by Community Care Licensing for a Licensed Community Care facility; i.e. Fingerprint and Child Abuse Index clearance, TB/Health Physical, valid CDL and clean driving record.
