Duties
- Provide one-on-one support to individuals in recovery, helping them navigate their personal journeys.
- Utilize crisis intervention techniques to assist clients in managing acute situations effectively.
- Facilitate group sessions focusing on coping strategies, motivational interviewing, and recovery skills.
- Collaborate with mental health professionals to create comprehensive care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Offer mentoring and guidance based on lived experiences, promoting self-advocacy and resilience.
- Assist clients in accessing community resources, including behavioral health services and addiction counseling.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress in accordance with organizational policies.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in crisis management and social work.
Experience
- Certification as a Peer Specialist is required.
- Previous experience in crisis intervention or mental health counseling is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with behavioral health systems and resources is beneficial.
- Skills in motivational interviewing and addiction counseling are a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
