Job Title : Behavioral Health / Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (BH / IDD) & Supported Employment Specialist

Job Overview :

The BH / IDD & Supported Employment Specialist provides comprehensive support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID / DD), behavioral health concerns, and those seeking employment. This role includes case management, behavioral interventions, vocational assessments, job development, job coaching, and ongoing support to help individuals achieve personal goals, enhance quality of life, and maintain competitive employment. The specialist works directly with individuals, families, and interdisciplinary teams to create personalized plans, ensure access to necessary services, and promote community integration. The role requires flexibility, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to empowering individuals to achieve their highest potential in both their personal and professional lives.   • Qualifications :
  • Education :

Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Vocational Rehabilitation, Special Education, or a related field.  Master's degree preferred.

  • Experience :
  • At least 2 years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or co-occurring behavioral health disorders.

  • Experience with behavioral assessments and interventions.
  • Experience in job coaching, vocational assessment, and employment services for individuals with disabilities, particularly mental health conditions.
  • Strong understanding of supported employment principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of community resources and job development strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to work sites.
  • Skills and Competencies :
  • Strong knowledge of behavioral health and ID / DD issues, treatment modalities, and supported employment practices.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to write clear, concise, and accurate documentation.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards for client care in behavioral health and developmental disabilities.
  • Certifications (if applicable) :
  • Licensed clinician.

  • ACRE Certified.
  • Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide Oversight & Supervision for IDD and BH Supported Employment Service Lines :
  • Supervise staff in both specialty areas

  • Operate programming in line with fidelity to the models in both IDD and BH Support Employment & GVRA
  • Client Assessment and Treatment Plan Development :
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the needs, strengths, and preferences of individuals with IDD and behavioral health concerns.

  • Develop, implement, and review individualized treatment plans and employment goals based on client needs, preferences, and progress.
  • Ensure treatment and employment plans are person-centered, culturally appropriate, and align with evidence-based practices.
  • Behavioral and Therapeutic Support for Individuals with IDD / BH Concerns :
  • Provide behavioral interventions to reduce challenging behaviors and promote positive behaviors in individuals with behavioral health concerns.

  • Offer counseling and support services to manage symptoms of behavioral health disorders (e.g., anxiety, depression).
  • 30% Productive / Billable time.
  • Collaborate with families and caregivers to implement strategies at home and in the community.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to offer consultation and direction for those with dual diagnosis.
  • Assist in planning for clinical continuum with CCBHC transition.
  • Job Development and Search Support :
  • Identify and engage potential employers, develop job search plans, and match individuals with appropriate job opportunities aligned with their abilities and goals.

  • Assist individuals with resume building, interview preparation, and identifying suitable job openings.
  • Provide on-the-job coaching and support to ensure individuals learn job-specific skills and meet employer expectations.
  • Ongoing Support and Job Retention :
  • Deliver continuous support to individuals, teaching self-management, communication skills, interpersonal skills, and maintaining job performance.

  • Assist individuals in retaining employment and transitioning to new jobs if desired, including redefining vocational goals and providing reemployment support.
  • Support individuals interested in self-employment, including business planning and identifying necessary supports.
  • Oversight for Case Management and Coordination :
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients and families, providing advocacy and ongoing support.

  • Assure coordination of  services with other professionals, including psychologists, physicians, social workers, and educators, to ensure holistic client care.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment and employment plans as necessary.
  • Crisis Intervention and Safety Plans :
  • Provide crisis intervention services, utilizing de-escalation techniques and emergency support when necessary.

  • Develop and implement crisis plans to ensure client safety and stability.
  • Documentation and Compliance :
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions, treatment plans, progress, and other required reports.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations, including HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.
  • Complete documentation, ensuring proper reporting of services.
  • Advocacy and Community Integration :
  • Advocate for clients' rights and access to necessary services.

  • Facilitate clients' integration into the community and work toward achieving independent living and employment goals.
  • Build relationships with community organizations and resources to provide holistic support for clients.
  • Training and Development :
  • Provide training to staff, caregivers, and community partners on behavioral health and developmental disability topics.

  • Stay updated on trends, best practices, and research in behavioral health and ID / DD fields to continually improve service delivery.
  • Job Responsibilities :

  • 30% Dedicated to SE Oversight and Operations
  • 30% dedicated to SE IDD Oversight and Operations
  • 30% Direct Care Activities such as assessment, treatment planning and / or individual therapy.
  • 10% IDD / BH Case consultation & clinical continuum planning
  • Salary : $61,000
