Job Summary
As a Direct Support Professional, you will be crucial in providing compassionate care and support to individuals with diverse needs. Duties
- Provide personal care assistance to participants, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Support clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety during heavy lifting when necessary.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding as required.
- Engage participants in social activities and recreational programs to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Monitor and document changes in participants' conditions or behaviors, reporting any concerns to the appropriate staff.
- Uphold participant rights by ensuring privacy and dignity at all times.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the overall quality of life for clients.
- Assist with medication reminders as needed and follow care plans established by healthcare professionals.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for participants.
Requirements
- Previous experience in senior care, patient care, long-term care, or home care is preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices is a plus.
- Ability to assist with physical mobility tasks.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with participants, families, and team members.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
- Understanding of participant rights and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications are advantageous.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 25 per week
