Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential support and care to individuals with diverse needs, including those with daily living skills challenges. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Provide patient observation to monitor changes in behavior or health status, reporting any concerns to the appropriate staff.
- Uphold resident rights by fostering an environment of respect and dignity.
- Engage residents in social activities and encourage participation in community events to promote socialization and interaction.
- Support individuals in developing life skills through tailored programs that enhance their independence.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, caregivers, and healthcare professionals, to create individualized care plans.
- Lift and assist residents as needed while ensuring proper safety protocols are followed.
Experience
- Previous experience in caregiving or direct support roles is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with memory care techniques and working with individuals a with developmental/physical disabilities is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with residents and their families.
- A background in social work or patient care is advantageous for understanding the needs of those you will support.
- Must possess a genuine passion for helping others and a commitment to providing high-quality care.
