JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Department Manager, the CA P&C Licensed Policy Processor 2 performs the essential functions of the position, which include but is not limited to servicing the needs of clients and making changes to existing accounts. Specific service and underwriting responsibilities are required in this position. Meets service and underwriting standards and performs essential functions at or above the quality and service standards of Aspire General Insurance Services.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Compare information from the application to the criteria for policy reinstatement and approve reinstatement when criteria are met;

· Compose business correspondence for supervisors, managers, and professionals;

· Correspond with the insured or agent to obtain information or inform them of account status or changes;

· Examine letters from policyholders or agents, original insurance applications, and other company documents to determine if changes are needed and the effects of changes;

· Modify, update, and process existing policies to reflect any change in the amount of coverage or type of insurance;

· Notify the insurance agent and accounting department of policy cancellation;

· Process policy cancellation requests within company guidelines;

· Organize and work with detailed office records, maintaining files and/or logs of various projects;

· Process and record new insurance policies and claims;

· Process, prepare, and submit business or government forms;

· Review and verify data, such as age, name, and address on insurance applications and policies;

· Transcribe data to worksheets and enter data into the computer for use in preparing documents and adjusting accounts;

· Maintaining communication with the Supervisor on the progress of ongoing tasks and/ or projects;

· Anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines;

· Provide backup when requested to sign in to phone queues during escalated call volumes;

· Possible auditing of trainees, policy processing tasks, documents, brokers, etc.

· Additional assignments to support department management.

Complies with state and federal laws, Department of Insurance criteria, insurance carrier, and Aspire General Insurance

Requirements:

SKILL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Active CA P&C License

· 1 year of experience of underwriting in the property and casualty insurance industry required;

· Strong administrative qualities in back-end processing;

· Ability to manage increased levels of responsibility;

· Strong knowledge of insurance terminology, concepts and coverage and ability to read, analyze, and interpret industry periodicals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations;

· Familiar with Microsoft Office; ability to use the Internet and adapt to new software programs and changes in technology;

· Ability to set priorities and perform multiple tasks;

· Ability to solve practical problems; deal with concrete variables in situations; and to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral, diagram, or schedule form;

· Ability to negotiate;

· Ability to adapt to a paperless environment;

· Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

· Ability to develop excellent working relationships with Staff, Clients, and Insurance Partners;

· Ability to communicate with others in an effective and friendly manner, one that is conducive to being a conscientious team member, fostering a spirit of goodwill, indicative of a professional environment and atmosphere;

· Ability to communicate orally and in writing with others to explain complex issues, receive and interpret complex information;

· Represent the Company professionally and contribute to the Corporate Image;

· Consistently provide excellent client service;

· Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments from a variety of staff.


WORKING CONDITIONS:

· This is a non-exempt position that complies with an alternative work schedule when applicable;

· This position may require mandatory overtime as deemed appropriate by management;

· The office is that of a highly technical company supporting a paperless environment;

· Travel may be required;

· Vision abilities to work at close range and with small print;

· Physical efforts required include, but may not be limited to, repetitive small motor activity, grasping, the ability to sit for extended periods of time; up to 6-8 hours per day, and verbally communicating detailed and important information to others quickly and accurately.
