Job Scope:
Position is responsible for assisting radiation therapist in all general non-treatment duties within scope of radiation treatment and patient management.
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development as it relates to the different life cycles.
Participates in performance improvement activities that ensure important processes and activities are measured, assessed, and improved systematically.
Maintains and supports a safe and compliant environment, including participating in any radiation safety training provided by RSO.
Complies with all hospital, Federal, Medicare/Medicaid/State standards, policies, and rules.
Maintains security passwords given to him/her.
Maintains storage of all hospital data essential for hospital functioning on the server, not the c drive.
Keeps current on the knowledge of the CPSI system and Office Applications as it applies to the job position.
Keeps staff and patient information within the HIPAA privacy laws.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Assist Radiation Therapy Treatment Team
Assists licensed radiation therapists with simulation and/or radiation treatment set-ups according to physician instruction.
Assists in documenting the prescribed course of radiation therapy if requested by RT staff after complete training.
Assists with patient scheduling of treatment times and simulations and providing prep instructions.
Maintenance of linens, treatment devices, and assist in inventory control and submitting supply orders to Director of Oncology Perform other non-treatment duties/cross coverage training as assigned by Director of Oncology within the dept.
Assist with Patient Care Management
Ensures safe care to patients adhering to policies, procedures, and standards, within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, productivity, and accuracy of practice.
Applies proper and accurate charge capture.
Assist Medical Staff
Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
Promotes professionalism, courtesy, and respect to all patients, staff, and associates of the Company.
Performs other duties as necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION:
· Graduate of an accredited school of radiology.
Active and in good standing ARRT licensed in LMRT.
Certified BLS
Employee must be in good standing with all required licensures.
Demonstrates behaviors and operating principles in all internal/external customer interactions. Performs duties with accountability
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENT:
Monday through Friday
8:00a.m. - 5:00p.m. Or 7:00a.m. - 4:00p.m.
Would be flexible based on treatment schedule. Overtime might be required.
ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS:
Building at times may be hot or cold for personal preference. Sudden alarms may be loud for code announcements.
MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to walk the building, lift up to 25 lbs. bend over to pick up objects on the floor, and reach overhead. Have the ability to perform manual dexterity functions including computer work.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
