We are looking for EMT-Basic to be part of our team of healthcare professionals providing services on base at Fort Johnson (formerly Fort Polk) ,LA .

Compensation :
- Rate : $19.43 / hour
- Health & Welfare : $4.57 / hour
- Total (Rate H&W) : $24.00 / hour
Schedule is as follows :
- Two 24 hours back to back the first week
- Second Week : One 24 hour shift and either a 12 or 18 hour shift and one on-call shift

Responsibilities :
- Operate ambulance equipment and respond to radio transmissions
- Determine the nature and extent of illness or injury to establish first aid procedures
- Adhere to established medical protocols and procedures as well as legal guidelines and health and safety standards
Skills
- Knowledge of medical procedures, terminology and medications
- Ability to stay calm and make the right decisions in adverse conditions
- Excellent working knowledge of medical equipment and devices
- Integrity and compassion towards human pain
- State EMT Certification
- NREMT
