Aspire Medical Staffing is seeking two Pharmacists to provide services at the New Mexico VA Health System. We are in need of one In-Patient Pharmacist and one Out-Patient Pharmacist.
Location: New Mexico VA Health System, Albuquerque, NM at 1501 San Pedro Dr. SE Inpatient/Outpatient Pharmacy
Schedule: 40 hours a week. Pharmacy services are operational 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days a year. The pharmacists and pharmacy technicians are subject to varying work hours depending on staffing needs. Work hours may consist of the following 8-12 hr. tours with a minimum of a 12-hour rest period between shifts.
Period of Performance:
Base: 3/4/2025 - 3/3/2026
Option 1: 3/4/2026 - 3/3/2027
Option 2: 3/4/2027 - 3/3/2028
Qualifications:
- Education: Must be a graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited college or School of Pharmacy with a baccalaureate degree in Pharmacy (BS Pharmacy) and/or a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.
- License: Must have a full, current and unrestricted license in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia) when services are performed onsite on VA property. Must also be licensed for controlled substances, with qualifications to practice in any states.
- Experience: One year of experience as either inpatient or outpatient pharmacist
- Certification: Basic Life Support (American Heart Association)
- Must be a US Citizen
Duties
- Dispenses drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners and provide information to patient(s) about medications and their use; advises physicians and other health practitioners on the selection, dosages, interactions and side effects of the medications.
- Counsels’ patients and answers questions about prescription drugs, such as those about possible adverse reactions or interactions. Gives advice about durable medical equipment and home healthcare supplies.
- Ensure all medication orders are entered and verified in the electronic patient medical record (VISTA).
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations governing receiving, safeguarding, and issuing controlled drugs.
