What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Coordinator - Expediter position at ASPIRE MRO?
This position performs as a conduit between both the Maintenance and Materials sides of both Aspire and the customer. The Material Coordinator – Expediter MCE will communicate daily with Leads, Supervisors, Managers, Stores, Purchasing and Customers regarding parts status, off units, and other related material issues that may affect the timeliness of redelivering the aircraft. Driven by the pace of the aircraft, the MCE will quickly troubleshoot and track down parts and tools using Aspires ERP systems. The MCE will monitor due dates and arrival status of ordered parts, coordinate efforts with the warehouse, customer, and purchasing to expedite parts procurement as needed. This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, fluency in the English language, proficiency in software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and Aspire ERP System.
This position also requires a minimum of one (1) year of related experience in the aviation industry and a working knowledge of aircraft terminology, parts, labor, tasks, and processes, and preferably have familiarization with 14-CFR Part 121 and 145 programs.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the Materials Coordinator – Expediter Supervisor the MCE will coordinate with skill groups and shifts to ensure smooth transition of pacing items requiring parts and tooling.
- Acts as a liaison between Aspire and the Customer for processing and approval of parts requiring expediting fees such as AOG or Priority
- Inform the immediate Supervisor and/or Project Manager of any materials related concerns which may affect the delivery of the aircraft.
- Interfaces with Customer Representatives to maintain a continuous flow of information on aircraft parts status including but not limited to alternate part numbers and tracking information to be updated into the Aspire ERP system and coordinates off unit dispositions to be sent out for repair in a timely manner.
- Monitor arrival status of ordered parts multiple times daily, coordinating with a designated Purchaser and Receiving personnel to expedite any parts procurement issues that are necessary.
- In conjunction with Maintenance, the MCE shall process part and tool requests for production using the Aspire ERP System.
- Acts as a “Runner” for HOT parts related to time-sensitive maintenance tasks.
- Notifies the designated Purchaser and shipping department of all required dates for parts sent out for outside overhaul or repair.
- Coordinates with the Customer and the Aspire materials team for the immediate return of all off units removed during maintenance providing the shipping department with all pertinent information.
- Verifies all outside services performed on the aircraft have been completed and received in the computer system at the end of the check to ensure proper billing.
- Works closely with the Project Manager, Stores and Purchasing daily as tasks are closed to disposition all RTS Parts daily, including requesting a RMA to be created if necessary.
- Be prepared to brief all Aspire Parts daily at the morning / afternoon customer production meetings
- Performs other duties as assigned.
