Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and cash management.
- Prepare and reconcile monthly bank statements and ensure accuracy across all company accounts.
- Manage general ledger entries, maintaining proper account classifications and compliance with financial standards.
- Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare financial statements (P&L, balance sheets) and cost analysis reports to track project budgets and financial performance.
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors to ensure timely payments and accurate transaction records.
- Oversee HR and IT functions with external consultants, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.
- Manage payroll processing, including tax compliance, benefits administration, and retirement plan contributions.
- Handle insurance audits and resolve discrepancies as needed.
- Supervise administrative and A/P staff, providing training on accounting best practices.
- Maintain clear communication with ownership and leadership teams.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support business needs.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5 years of accounting experience (construction, real estate, or project-based accounting preferred).
- Proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop/Online) and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of AP/AR, payroll, general ledger, and job costing.
- Experience with month-end close and financial reporting.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial data clearly to leadership.
