Position Overview
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and professional Medical Receptionist to be the first point of contact for patients at our front desk. The ideal candidate will have excellent phone etiquette, familiarity with working in a medical office, and the ability to provide a welcoming and efficient experience for all patients.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for front desk receptionist duties, including answering phone calls, greeting patients, obtaining required patient information, and ensuring the entrance area is clean and organized.
- Assist patients with scheduling appointments.
- Effectively maintain on-time appointment schedules by notifying providers when patients have arrived.
- Retrieve and file patient records as needed.
- Collect payment from patients.
- Maintain accurate patient records by updating patient information and scanning documents into EMR as needed.
- Protect patient rights by maintaining the confidentiality of patient records.
- Contribute to team effort by assisting with additional duties and when support is requested.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a customer service role preferred.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Strong communication and phone etiquette skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical environment.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems is a plus.
- Friendly, professional demeanor with a passion for patient care.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace is a plus.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
