Job description
Vocational Coach- Part time
Rewarding work with teens ages 12 to 18 years old! Become a member of the Aspire team where at-risk youth learn to communicate well with others. Youth are served during the after-school hours. Staff provides mentorship and guidance to prepare youth for paid work through exposure to various community service opportunities.
Applicants must have at least an Associate's degree and/or equivalent work experience as a job coach or providing supported employment, ideally with teens. Must be available to work in the after-school and evening hours. (Most staff work from 12 pm to 8 pm) Valid North Carolina driver's license, clean background check, and negative drug screen also required.
Responsibilities:
- Teach communication skills to youth and parents
- Build work readiness skills
- Lead psychoeducational groups
- Conduct intakes
- Support youth with current life problems
- Assist youth with job/internship placement
- Complete daily documentation on student progress
- Communicate with referral sources and court counselors as applicable
- Provide transportation for youth and families to and from the program as needed (via company vehicle or mileage reimbursement)
- Complete monthly reports for court as applicable
- Attend staff meetings and clinical supervision sessions
Schedule: 4:00pm-7:00pm Thursday and Friday
