Role: DB2 SQL Data Engineer
Location: Remote (Must be near Houston, TX)
Duration: 12 months
- DB2, SQL, RPG programming, and iSeries tools

We are looking for a Senior DB2 SQL Data Engineer with strong SQL stored procedure expertise and experience in DB2 iSeries (not Z/OS or mainframe). The role involves modernizing RPG programs into SQL-based applications and working with iSeries tools like Aldon, RDI, and ACS.
Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain SQL stored procedures in DB2 iSeries
- Convert RPGIV, RPGLE, and RPGFree programs to SQL-based applications
- Collaborate with developers to integrate database solutions
- Use iSeries tools (Aldon, RDI, ACS) for development and deployment
- Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity
- Write and maintain technical documentation
- Proven experience as a Senior DB2 Developer in an iSeries environment
- Strong SQL skills, including stored procedures and scripting
- Experience with RPGIV, RPGLE, and RPGFree
- Hands-on knowledge of Aldon, RDI, and ACS tools
- Familiarity with modern development environments (Python, microservices, VS Code)
- Experience converting legacy RPG programs to SQL is a plus
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Python programming and DB2 integration
- Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful APIs
- Proficiency in VS Code IDE
