Infrared Thermographer Technician
Since 1981, Asplundh Electrical Testing Co., LLC (AET) has been a national provider of substation commissioning, acceptance testing and maintenance services to electrical transmission, distribution, and generation clients, as well as large users of electrical power. AET has evolved into a successful industry leader and one of the largest independent electrical testing companies in North America. AET is NETA (International Electrical Testing Association) certified and maintains full member status.
We maintain a staff of highly trained engineers and technicians offering project management, value added engineering, design, power system studies and complete field-testing services for electrical power systems and equipment from low voltage through extra high voltage.
Job Description
Position Type: Full-time
Primary Duties Include:
- Perform visual and infrared inspection of electrical, mechanical, and structural systems.
- Opening live electrical equipment to expose energized connections.
- Cooperating with client personnel on the client site.
- Advise clients on techniques to mitigate issues uncovered during the inspection.
- Complete test reports in a timely fashion.
- Ability to arrive to work on time and maintain a positive attendance record.
- Perform any other duties and projects as assigned.
Desired Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will likely have the following qualities:
- Thermographers must have a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience performing thermography in medium and high voltage electrical environments.
- Impeccable adherence to AET safety protocols and wearing appropriate protective equipment while working.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills together with proven commitment to safety, collaborative relationship skills and customer service.
