A Lead Engineer with Asplundh Engineering Services will lead a team or work on a team to complete engineering tasks and create custom engineering solutions to meet customer needs. The candidate should also demonstrate the ability to adapt in a fast-paced and evolving industry. Tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

The candidate should also demonstrate the ability to adapt in a fast-paced and evolving industry. Tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Creating and reviewing Protection & Control settings designs
- Coordination studies
- Short circuit studies using short circuit models
- Event Analysis
- Creating and reviewing HMI (Human-Machine Interface) settings
- Creating and reviewing RTU settings designs
- Designing and configuring operating characteristics of managed switches and LANs
- Reviewing current industry best practices to ensure compliance with cyber security requirements
- Leading, planning, and coordinating projects with limited supervision
- Understanding and delivering results based on client specific standards and requirements
- Training and developing junior personnel
- Leading project teams and interfacing with the customer to deliver a quality product by scheduled delivery date
- Field support including troubleshooting, testing, and setup
Education / Experience
- Minimum 7 years of experience in relay/protection engineering or related industry
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
- Programming knowledge or experience with protection relays and other substation equipment
- Knowledge of engineering theory, practices, and procedures
- Registered PE (professional engineer) in Maine, Connecticut and/or New York
- IEC 61850/Goose experience is preferred
- Experience in power protection, relay design and planning, or substation design and telecom integration
- Experience with substation relays and equipment such as SEL, GE, Beckwith, electromechanical relays, Ruggedcom switches, and Cimplicity HMIs
