The Bulk Plant Customer Service Attendant is responsible for providing superior customer service and delivering an exceptional experience. The Bulk Fuel Plant Customer Service Attendant is responsible for the safe, efficient, and environmentally sound operation of the Bulk Plant fueling station. This includes monitoring and dispensing of bulk heating oil, customer service, cleaning and minor maintenance of equipment and facilities and assisting with the coordination of customer related activities that occur at the Bulk Plant fuel Kiosk. In addition, the fuel dock attendant will assist Bulk Plant operations staff in the performance of their duties including cleaning of the containment area, grounds, buildings, and parking lot. Weekend, holiday, and occasional after-hours work is required. This position will be responsible for operations performed at the Heating Oil Kiosk and Heating Oil Island to ensure customers are able to purchase Bulk Heating Oil at the North Lane Rack at The Sourdough Fuel Bulk Plant in a safe clean environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (and other duties as assigned)
- Must be organized, flexible, able to multi-task, and perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Must provide exceptional customer service that builds loyalty.
- Clean and perform routine minor maintenance on the Bulk Plant fueling station, kiosk, equipment, and associated facilities.
- Perform periodic safety inspections on the Bulk Plant fueling system and fueling containment areas.
- Receive, check, and verify fueling deliveries and associated products.
- Monitor fuel tank status and make recommendations for fuel deliveries.
- Assist with commercial truck arrivals to the load rack and public fuel dispensers. Monitor the loading of any commercial gasoline products.
- Instruct customers in the proper methods for performing fueling operations and supervise dispensing of fuel products.
- Enforce rules, regulations, best management practices and site provisions.
- Collect payments in the form of cash, credit, and debit cards.
- Answer customer inquiries regarding Heating Oil availability, transport (bulk, drum, tote, etc.), and pricing.
- Balance bulk fuel inventory daily.
- Operate Point of Sale equipment & proper invoicing of fuel in both DM2 and Ruby Commander Systems.
- Some pumping of fuel required.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Responsible for electronic and paper filing, document retention and data input daily.
- Perform all tasks in a safe manner to minimize risk to customers, employees, and property.
- Will help warehouse staff when shorthanded or when immediately unavailable.
- Order and maintain supplies as well as items for sale to customers.
- Other duties as assigned to ensure the safety, overall presentation, and perception of the facility.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Customer service experience required.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Proven record of outstanding attendance and punctuality.
- Working knowledge of Heating Oil Products and their applications.
- Working knowledge of Heating Oil and Motor Fuel products preferred.
- Must be able to use Point of Sale System.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (including Excel, Work, Outlook) and experience working with a computerized billing and inventory system preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Possess the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Possess the ability to speak in a group format to employees and customers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Possess the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Possess the ability to deal with problems involving multiple variables in standardized situations.
