We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Data & Analytics Engineer with a specialization in data engineering, extract, transform, load (ETL) processes, and advanced application integration. This role will focus on building and maintaining robust data pipelines, integrating enterprise systems, and optimizing data workflows to support business intelligence and operational efficiency. This role will be a key partner to business and analytics teams, providing critical support and collaboration to drive data-driven decision-making. Ideal candidates will have experience with analytics and reporting tools, enabling them to deliver meaningful insights and effectively address business needs. Candidate shall possess a strong technical background, willingness to engage with a side variety of business stakeholders, and a passion for designing scalable solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (and other duties as assigned)

  • Data Engineering & ETL/ELT Development:
    • Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines for ETL and ELT processes to ensure efficient data movement and transformation.
    • Create reusable data models, workflows, and frameworks using tools such as SQL, Python, and Databricks.
    • Stay current with modern and scalable data engineering methodologies, continuously introducing innovative ideas and approaches to the team.
    • Develop and maintain data pipelines that integrate Databricks with ERP systems and other enterprise applications, ensuring seamless data flow and operational efficiency.
  • Application Integration & ERP Optimization:
    • Lead the design and implementation of integrations between Oracle ERP, Deltek ERP, Vista Viewpoint ERP, and other business-critical systems.
    • Utilize Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) and other middleware tools to ensure seamless data flow and process automation across applications.
    • Be proficient in utilizing APIs and capable of writing and managing scalable code that interacts with the various ERP systems within ASRC and its subsidiaries.
    • Design and implement scalable integrations between Databricks and enterprise applications.
  • Data Governance & Optimization:
    • Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and security of data across systems by implementing robust governance practices.
    • Optimize data storage and retrieval processes within Oracle Databases and SQL Server Databases to enhance system performance.
    • Optimize ERP data processing and transformations within Databricks to improve reporting, analytics, and decision-making capabilities across business functions.
  • Business Analysis & Collaboration:
    • Partner with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
    • Conduct data analysis to provide actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making processes.
    • Advanced proficiency in Excel for data analysis, reporting, and visualization, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and automation.
    • Proficient in Power BI, with the ability to create interactive dashboards, perform data modeling, and generate insights to support business decisions.
    • Document business requirements, data workflows, and integration processes to facilitate transparency, maintainability, and future scalability.
  • Continuous Learning & Technical Problem-Solving:
    • Troubleshoot and resolve data engineering and application integration issues effectively and efficiently.
    • Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in data engineering, ETL/ELT, and application integration to continuously improve processes.
    • Embrace a growth mindset, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance skills through experimentation, research, and collaboration with peers.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve data engineering and application integration issues effectively and efficiently.
    • Proactively identify and troubleshoot complex data challenges, applying critical thinking and creative problem-solving to optimize performance and reliability.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in data engineering, ETL/ELT development, and application integration or related experience.
  • Expert proficiency in SQL, Python, Databricks and other Data Engineering technology for data manipulation and process automation.
  • Strong knowledge of the Kimball Method of data warehouse design and development methodology and strong expertise in Databricks and serverless SQL solutions.  Including working experience in Oracle and SQL Server Databases.
  • Experience with data analysis using Excel and PowerBI

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with Oracle ERP, Deltek ERP, Vista Viewpoint ERP, and Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC).  Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
  • Advanced understanding of data architecture, data governance, and data security practices.
  • Certifications in Oracle Integration Cloud, Databricks, Oracle/SQL Server Database, or related technologies.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or customers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The work environment is in a busy office setting.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and may be required to travel in small and large commercial aircraft.
