JOB SUMMARY
The Class A CDL Truck Driver/Operator facilitates the delivery of Builders Choice products and materials to customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver products and material to customers.
- Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, including gas, oil, water, tires, lights and brakes to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.
- Operate trucks mounted forklift delivery trucks, knuckle and standard boom trucks.
- Pull orders and load materials.
- Obey traffic laws and follow written and transportation procedures.
- Perform emergency repairs such as changing tires or installing light bulbs, fuses, chains and spark plugs.
- Responsible for routine maintenance and reporting mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Strong knowledge, understanding and sensitivity to the Inupiat culture.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Must be able to take direction when working with co-workers and supervisors.
- Must have strong communication skills with both customers and co-workers.
- Ability to operate trucks mounted forklift delivery trucks, knuckle and standard boom trucks.
- Ability to work a varying schedule, including holidays and weekends.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- A valid driver’s license & commercial driver’s license Class A, with an acceptable driving record.
- Air Brakes endorsement.
- Ability to meet safety requirements.
- Current NCCCO Certification for Boom Truck Drivers.
- Ability to meet and maintain U.S. DOT FMCSA requirements for the position.
Preferred
- Experience in any one of the above CDL required trucks is preferred.
- Prior work experience as a delivery driver preferred.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- Prior experience with building material supply or wholesale supply preferred.
