What are the responsibilities and job description for the Access Control Clerk-Part Time (Dahlgren, VA) position at ASRC Federal?
The Access Control Clerk (Guard II) Part-Time enforces regulations and procedures designed to prevent breaches of security, exercises judgment and uses discretion in responding to incidents and emergencies, determining whether to intervene directly, ask for assistance as time permits, keep situation under control or surveillance, or to report incident or situation to the appropriate authority for handling. Duties require specialized training in methods and techniques of protecting controlled areas. The Access Control Clerk will perform access control functions and provide access control support at a main or front desk. Must be flexible with daytime hours between 6:00AM-8:00PM. Normal hours are M-F but could include weekends and holidays depending on customer requirements. This position will be on site at Naval Surface Warfare Center-Dahlgren Division.
Must be flexible with daytime hours. Must have an active DOD Secret Clearance or higher.
Responsible for the following:
Register building access badges in the Lenel system, adding accesses per approved access request forms and process initial building access badges pins and/or pin resets
Respectfully greet visitors, verify clearances and notify Point of Contact (POC)
Assist meeting coordinators by receiving list of visitors and verifying their clearances in advance to have badges prepared.
Maintain a daily log/database documenting visitors (Visitor, Contractor or Government personnel), Points of Contact (POC), date and time of arrival/departure, employer, and the visitor badge number assigned. Dependent on Departments’ operating procedures security classification level of authorized access shall be documented. Authorization shall be established based on security classification level.
Ensure tenants and visitors are adhering to the Portable Electronic Device Policy
Open, secure, and alarm zones in accordance with building standard operating procedures, Open Storage Secret and below, and properly annotate such on the SF702.
All other duties as outlined in the Statement of Work (SOW)
Requirements:
Perform access control functions by providing support at a main or front desk.
Routine record keeping functions with attention to detail
Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills.
Active DOD Secret Clearance or higher.
Demonstrated skills with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), basic correspondence, answering and screening incoming telephone calls, and the operation of basic office equipment.
