ASRC Federal Communications is seeking an Aircraft Servicer for our ISS2 contact supporting our Air Force customer. This position is located on Wake Island.
This position will require that the employee work on-site at Wake Island Airfield (WIA). Transportation to WIA will be provided from Honolulu, HI. Meals and housing will be provided by the program while working on the island. Employees will live in a dormitory housing environment and meals will be furnished daily through the cafeteria commissary. This role is perfect for someone who is able to remain away for long periods of time while working on island with occasional scheduled trips back to Honolulu, HI, 3 months on the island, and one month off unpaid. This is a negotiated union position. This role will support the Installation Support Services (ISS2) contract.
Key Role:
Performs all duties in the support of aircraft transiting Wake Island and of regularly scheduled resupply flights including movement of passengers and materials on and off the Island.
Duties:
Takes instructions from Air Field Manager and base operations
Maintain the Enroute Services Aircraft Support Log
Respond to aircraft; marshalling the aircraft and related duties for aircraft handling
Aircraft handled and serviced include civilian and military; cargo, passenger and other types
Coordinates with the POL section for aircrew requests for aircraft refueling/defueling
Coordinate capability forecasting with Cape Forecasting/ACA at JBPHH
Conduct passenger services for WI to include check-in, baggage service and security screening
Coordinates with the AGE section for equipment required during aircraft servicing
Prepares cargo and equipment for airlift movement
Performs operators checks of flight line equipment prior to use
Provides dispatch service as requested by base operations or aircrew; positioning flight line support equipment to support aircraft maintenance and flying operations
Required to operate forklifts, aircraft loaders, staircase trucks, baggage conveyors, aircraft tugs and towbars, airfield sweepers, and other airfield equipment
Practices good housekeeping, tool control, Foreign Object Damage prevention, and safety at all times.
Perform other duties as requested.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of four (4) years of experience as an Aircraft servicer, Aerial Port, Transit Alert, or similar duties.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.
