ASRC Federal System Solutions (AFSS) supports the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Airspace System (NAS) Engineering Support Services (ESS) contract. Join our growing team as an electrical engineer/computer engineer/computer scientist in support of the NAS Communications Team , Telcom Sub - team , and Terminal/TRACON Sub - team at MMAC/ZAN in Oklahoma/Alaska. Responsibilities
- Perform research, and maintenance of ASTI software systems.
- Originate, write, tests, update and documents, projects supporting ASTI system software.
- Play a lead role in coordinating, drafting, reviewing, and editing technical reports/drawings for final approval and distribution to the field.
- Develop plans and techniques, to address real-time and anticipated problems, such as integrating new products, and handling issues arising from code reviews.
- Provide support for Modernization and Enhancement of systems as requested by the government.
- Perform market research, and evaluates needs for updating end of life hardware
- Identify needs and drive the development and implementation of major processes.
- Handle, and document trouble calls from the weather system products end user when needed.
- Provide support utilizing languages such as C, C , SQL, and Python (2 and 3)
- Ability to configure and maintain network hardware including routers, and switches from various vendors.
- Provide software developmental support for configuring Air/Ground devices/hardware.
- Experience with programming in Python (2 and 3), C, C , and SQL.
- Experience working in a team environment.
- Good written and spoken communication including developing technical documentation.
- Ability to pass an FAA background investigation (US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required).
- Bachelor of Science from an ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) accredited program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
- Knowledge and understanding of the importance of testing during all phases of the software development process.
- Proficiency with computer operating systems, software, and hardware with proven ability to debug complex systems and to conduct reviews, audits, and testing.
- Working knowledge of UNIX and UNIX-like Operating Systems (AIX, Linux)
