The Custodian, under general supervision, performs a variety of janitorial duties to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of assigned rooms, buildings, and related facilities. The custodian must have basic cleaning skills, be organized, and effectively communicate with customers, vendors, and team members with a positive attitude. The custodian must be able to work cohesively on a team and communicate with coworkers and customers.
The tasks involved are :
- Sweep, scrub, wax floors
- Vacuum and clean rugs and carpets
- Dust and clean furniture
- Clean and re-stock restrooms
- Empty waste and re-cycle receptacles
- Wash and dust windows, walls, and blinds
- Operate a variety of electrical cleaning equipment
- Maintain custodial equipment
- Track and order custodial supplies
