Job Description:
ASRC Federal NetCentric Technology, LLC is seeking an Electrician - Maintenance to support ongoing activities on our Kirtland AFB Engineering Operations Services (KEOS)contract at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Job Summary:
The Electrician - Maintenance performs preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure that all electrical work complies with the National Electric Code (NEC) and KAFB Design Guide Standards.
Maintains and repairs low voltage(600voltsandbelow) real property electrical systems to meet the NEC, and applicable jurisdictional references, to ensure safe and reliable electrical systems.
Responsible for transformers, streetlights, grounding equipment, and other systems to achieve the most efficient and economical usage of electrical power.
Responds to customer service calls in a timely and efficient manner, troubleshoots and performs repairs as needed. Performs tasks to fulfill service requirements and account for time and material in accordance with contractual requirements for emergency, routine, and preventative work tasks.
Completes necessary documentation in accordance with the company’s processes and the customer’s service requirements.
Communicates with central dispatch, shop lead, and supervisor on current work order status and receives updates on outstanding customer issues daily following the service process(es).
Participates in an after-hours on-demand service program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform work required for the repair, maintenance, installation, and modernization of electrical and fire alarm systems for buildings, equipment, and grounds.
Locate and determine electrical malfunctions using test equipment.
Repair malfunctions by such methods as replacing burned out elements, fuses, and replacing defective wiring, cleaning, and repairing motors.
Test electrical equipment, such as motors, heaters, and controls for safety and efficiency, using standard test equipment and by observing functions.
Install fixtures, wiring conduits, motors, and other electrical equipment.
Inspect circuits for specified shielding and grounding.
Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements:
Minimum education level of high school diploma, or GED equivalent.
Current EE98J, State of New Mexico Journeyman license.
Knowledge of electrical principles pertaining to interior and exterior power.
Be able to read and interpret building diagrams and technical manuals.
Excellent organizational, time management, and customer service skills.
Ability to collect, analyze and summarize data and prepare daily reports.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
Possess competent and effective computer skills to include using Microsoft Office 365 applications.
Must have proficient English oral and written communication skills sufficient to effectively communicate with employees, management, and customers.
Must be a US citizen and currently possessor be able to obtain/maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.
Must possess and maintain a valid US driver's license.
Must be able to pass a drug screen.
Have ability to perform repetitive physical tasks involving lifting at least 50 lbs.
Be committed to providing for and maintaining a safe working environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in Department of Defense or other government environment.
Journeymen’s license issued by one of the following states through reciprocity with New Mexico.
