What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Maintenance Worker position at ASRC Federal?
SUMMARY: ASRC Federal Field Services provides logistical support at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in North Charleston (FLETC Federal Complex off Spruill Avenue). We are looking for a General Maintenance Worker (GMW).
Requirements:
High School diploma/GED preferred.
Must have 2 years of recent experience as a General Maintenance Worker.
Must be a US or Naturalized Citizen.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle.
Must be able to push, pull and/or lift 70 lbs.
Clear and effective written and communication skills.
Must be able to flex in the event of emergencies.
Must be able to pass a background check, drug screen and physical.
Roles/Responsibilities:
Replace electrical receptacles, wires, bulbs, ballast, switches, fixtures, and motors.
Use plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings.
Repair or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets.
Paint structures and equipment.
Repair or replace concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks.
Replace damaged paneling and floor tiles.
Hang doors and install door locks.
Perform Preventive Maintenance on exhaust fans, emergency lighting, HVAC equipment, water coolers, pumps, and facility operating equipment.
Performing general maintenance on equipment and facility infrastructure.
Crawl under and work on the topside of buildings as needed to make repairs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
