ASRC Federal Systems Solutions (AFSS), Wing Information and Communications Systems (WICS II) contract is offering an undergraduate college student the chance to apply their networking and technological interests and knowledge to an exciting real-world mission.
We are seeking an intern who is currently enrolled in programs focused in IT disciplines, Networking, Systems Administration, and cyber security. Work is performed in a collaborative environment at Schriever SFB CO. The intern will gain hands-on experience using a variety of technologies in support of our government customer mission. This role is a temporary, on-site opportunity.
Work location: Schriever SFB, CO.
Background investigation: Must be a US Citizen with ability to successfully complete a government issued background check.
Program dates: dependent on slot/funding availability (expected 6-month period)
Hours: 32 hours per week
Education:
Currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Cyber Security, or other relevant studies
Summary:
Work closely with our IT, network, systems administration and communications systems teams on a variety of potential assignments, including, but not limited to, systems administration, communications engineering and architecture, help desk trouble shooting, cyber security, networking and infrastructure configuration dependent on contract requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
Knowledge of Systems administration, Window and/or Lenux
Knowledge of military telecommunications systems architectures
General cyber security and zero trust architecture knowledge
Knowledge of networking systems
Ability to document work and present tasking, findings, etc.
Ability to perform research and analyze data.
Ability to work independently but also in various collaborative team environments.
Proficient in Microsoft office tools such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
“Can do” positive attitude.
Must be a US Citizen with ability to pass a government background investigation.
Must be IAT level 2 certified.
Able to obtain required security clearance (Secret) prior to start
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience and/or training/certification in Juniper or Cisco .
Familiarity with government/military processes and culture.
Technical Writing.
