Responsibilities
Provide junior level Risk Management and Technical Writing support to fulfill the following duties:
Risk Manager
- Provide Risk Management services for the DAVINCI mission, where you would i dentify pertinent project risks and craft clear, concise, and actionable risk statements.
- Track action items, status, and deliverable dates; identifying potential delays and notifying the appropriate parties.
- Establish, design, implement, and maintain a project-specific Risk Management (RM) process integral to achieving mission success.
- Lead the RM initiative by setting objectives and providing guidance in achieving goals.
- Prepare for, and facilitate, project Risk Management Board meetings.
- Interface with all levels of project management to ensure timely and accurate information.
- Participate in the coordination of Center-level RM initiatives and best practices, circulating lessons learned and promoting Center goals.
- Coordination of DAVINCI gate reviews including documentation needed, agenda, etc.
- Integration and editing of DAVINCI material for various presentations.
- Assist the DAVINCI mission staff in developing, updating, and maintaining program documentation, technical publications, and presentations in accordance with current NASA and Center style guides and templates.
- Coordinate the submission of program and project documents into the established review and approval process and communicate status to all interested stakeholders on a no less than weekly basis.
- Provide proactive communication and expedite program and project documentation through the review and approval process when necessary.
- Based on inputs from division staff, compose, submit, and track award nominations.
- Provide technical graphics support including diagrams, flow charts, and captioned photos as requested for reports, presentations, and publications.
- Coordination of DAVINCI gate reviews, understanding of what documentation is needed, developing the agenda with the projects support, and work closely with the Goddard Standing Review Team.
- Establish continuous process improvements for DAVINCI content creation and documentation processes.

- Understanding of Continuous Risk Management (CRM) and Risk Informed Decision Making (RIDM).
- Sufficient knowledge and experience to document a project-specific Risk Management process in a Risk Management Plan, obtain project approval, as well as SMA concurrence.
- An understanding of typical Risk Management processes for NASA Goddard projects, is a strong plus.
- Has basic knowledge, and use, of at least one risk repository tool (e.g., spreadsheet, database, COTS product).
- Proficient in advanced RM techniques, applying accumulated knowledge and judgment to project/program RM leadership/decision making.
- Experience with Risk Audits is preferable.
- Excellent verbal communication skills to support interfacing with both technical and project management.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Proactive and strategic process improvement abilities
- Ability to understand and translate technical content for general public consumption.
- Individual must meet government NAC and citizenship/permanent residency requirements for access to NASA GSFC. Extensive background investigation will be performed as a requirement of the job.
- Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years of related experience or six (6) years of experience in lieu of a degree.
