We are seeking a Strategic Communications Specialist & Internship Coordinator to support a NASA contract in Greenbelt, MD.
Job Description: Provide project support to the Exploration and Space Communication Projects Division, Code 450, Strategic Communications Team.
Responsibilities:
Internship Management:
Manage the Goddard SCaN Internship Project, including:
Recruiting mentors
Posting and tracking opportunities
Collaborating with stakeholders and partner organizations
Organizing large-scale presentations to senior management
Planning professional development events
Manage logistics for interns and mentors including travel, security clearances, badging, office space, and hardware and software procurement.
Manage intern presence at the main Greenbelt campus as well as at the Wallops Island, Las Cruces, and Manhattan campuses, in addition to offsite contractors.
Unite three intern vehicles: Pathways co-ops, intern.nasa.gov students, and temporary contractor hires into a single, seamless program. Collaborate with the Pathways co-op program to maximize talent conversion into civil service.
Maintain records from program’s inception in 2016 to present to track program progress & achievements and to rapidly respond to data requests.
Provide mentorship to students navigating professional development.
Cultivate a network of universities, colleges, and high schools to elevate program visibility and sustain a pipeline of new students.
Cultivate a network of external organizations to provide a platform for recruiting, additional sources of funding, and broader career-opportunity perspectives for students.
Strategic Communications:
Produce high-quality written content, including articles, blog posts, talking points, social media updates, and internal communications.
Support multiple communications projects simultaneously, communicating status when needed.
Collaborate with cross-center teams to craft compelling narratives for key initiatives, missions, and network services.
Provide support to subject matter experts at conferences, panels, and engagement events.
Analyze metrics to assess the effectiveness of campaigns, adjusting strategies to optimize reach and impact.
Support ad hoc requests and quick turnaround actions when needed.
Contribute to weekly, monthly, and annual reports as required.
Requirements:
Proficiency in MS Office Suite
Must demonstrate ability to manage time efficiently and meet strict deadlines.
Exceptional customer service skills, both over the phone, electronically and in person; proactive and quick to respond to customer requests.
Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Individual must meet government NAC and citizenship/permanent residency requirements for access to NASA GSFC. Extensive background investigation will be performed as a requirement of the job.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of professional or 8 years of experience in lieu of degree.
