Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and materials required.
- Measure and cut materials to specified dimensions.
- Mix mortar or grout and spread it onto a foundation or previously laid blocks.
- Lay bricks, concrete blocks, stone, and other materials to construct or repair structures.
- Align structures vertically and horizontally using levels and plumb bobs.
- Clean and polish surfaces with hand or power tools.
- Apply and smooth mortar or other adhesives to join bricks or blocks.
- Inspect and repair damaged brickwork or masonry.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and building codes.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to complete projects on time and within budget.
- Proven experience as a Brick Mason or similar role.
- Proficiency in masonry techniques and tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong physical stamina and manual dexterity.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an apprenticeship program or relevant vocational training is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in masonry work.
