JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Construction Manager is based in the Anchorage office and will report to the Project Director. They will lead remaining fabrication and construction activities for Phase I and prepare for Phase II of the Pikka Project. This includes contract planning through award, execution and handover to commissioning / production operations.
This role is the overall construction team manager for the fabrication and construction scope. This includes working closely with quality, HSSE, materials, logistics, document control, project controls, preservation, site administration, subordinates and all construction contractors as required.
The Senior Construction Manager is further accountable for meeting the Alaska Business Unit’s safety, environmental, quality, cost and schedule objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Execute construction campaigns.
- Plan and monitor all construction and fabrication activities against established safety, schedule and cost performance metrics. Ensure compliance of work to project specifications.
- Lead all fabrication and construction activities. Ensure construction is fully integrated with commissioning needs requirements for Phase I.
- Provide support to the commissioning activities, including handover to operations.
- Lead site managers and superintendents.
- Ensure the appropriate equipment, labor and other resources are available to execute the scope while ensuring any excess is avoided to actively manage within the budget.
- Oversee and supervise all assigned construction resources to ensure key project milestones are achieved and all company execution standards are met for scope, cost, quality, and HSE.
- Monitor Contractor performance of work and address concerns early via field leadership team.
- Monitor health of interfaces between field construction contractors and intervene as required.
- Lead the construction readiness process for Phase I river lift activities, facilitate Company and Contractor planning meetings, ensure Company and Contractor deliverables are reviewed and approved by the accountable function.
- Ensure implementation of the agreed upon execution strategy with respect to key priorities and milestones.
- Develop construction execution plan for Phase II based on project schedule.
- Support engineering planning by providing fabrication and construction need dates for all work package scopes of work as defined in the overall Work Breakdown Structure.
- Develop Company deliverables required in the Construction Readiness process.
- Lead the overall effort of the site teams to review and approve all contractors’ execution plans.
- Lead constructability process and provide feedback to planners
- Lead construction support strategies and processes.
- Assist in the definition and development of the best contract strategy and identification of qualified vendors to support the different fabrication and construction packages.
- Actively participate in pre-qualification process of fabrication yards.
- Ensure completion of construction permits and stipulations, engineering drawings, identify execution constraints, hazards, and finalize the field construction plan for each year’s work scope.
- Ensure a comprehensive site communications plan is developed and implemented for all Company and non-Company stakeholders.
- Actively promote Company knowledge sharing; apply best practices, synergies, integration across disciplines and teams.
- Conduct lessons learned exercise to fully incorporate Phase I learnings into Phase II.
- Lead integration activities between the construction team, engineering team, project services, HSES, and other functions to ensure alignment and avoid silos.
- Drive efficiency and implement KPIs to track Completions team performance.
- Inform, advise and influence executive management on all value-adding and potentially value-adding opportunities relating to Construction activities.
- Collaborate and engage with HSES to ensure everyone is aware of HSSE plan and concerns are addressed.
- Engage with engineering to ensure technical queries are addressed in a timely manner, the sanctity of design is preserved and documentation is complete.
- Collaborate with the commissioning team to integrate the work effort, open up CSU work front and ensure efficient completion/turnover.
- Collaborate to implement the project quality plan and minimize rework.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous North Slope, Arctic or similar cold weather climate experience
- 10 years of major oil / gas construction and fabrication project experience in senior leadership roles
- Advanced level multi-tasking skills with ability to manage multiple ongoing activities
- Ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines and across organizational boundaries
- Willing and able to travel frequently (up to 30% of the time), typically within US
- Occasional international travel may be required
- Demonstrable experience of improving operational efficiency whilst maintaining an absolute focus on HSEA strong engineering/technical foundation with a strong understanding of drilling and completions of conventional and unconventional wells
- Demonstrable of applying technically innovative solutions to complex completions challenges
- Exceptional leadership and stakeholder engagement skills with a proven track-record of delivering strong results through people
- Ability to manage strategy implementation while ensuring quality control and attention to HSE
- Exceptional productivity skills - Can be relied on to get the job done accurately and on time

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 20 years field experience in a major cold weather project in a senior supervisory or management role (Professional qualification in construction a bonus)
- Knowledge of and familiarity with Alaskan contractor community
