Description
Position Summary
Under the direction of the Warehouse Manager, this position coordinates all of the activities for maintaining accurate inventory and quality assurance for the warehouse.
Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities
- Coordinates and executes cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy
- Inventory management maintaining the accuracy and integrity of inventory including incoming and outgoing products and supplies
- Develop processes and ensure compliance
- Assists the Shipping Team Leader with cross training employees
- Communicates with the team leaders and production supervisors regarding status of items received, put away, shipped or brought back such as damaged or restocking
- Leads by example in safety and assist the Supervisor in employee adherence to policies and procedures
- Ability to resolve any shipping quality/inventory issues
- Ensures inventory transfers are handled correctly
- Ensure inventory variances are identified and resolved through investigation to find the root cause
- Tracking metrics for quality and inventory, such as NCR’s, and cycle count data
- Working knowledge of RF Scanners, systems related to inventory and tracking
- Compiles all data on quality and inventory for reporting outcomes
- Informs Manager of any issues with Inventory or quality
- Must wear proper PPE at all times and conform to all safety rules and regulations
- Perform any other task asked by management
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Previous experience working in shipping and receiving department
- Inventory cycle counting process (s); Charting of metrics, documentation for quality improvements
- Minimum of two years of forklift experience
- Must be able to lift minimal of 50 lbs periodically
- Interact effectively with various levels of the organization
- Willingness to be subject matter expert within the warehouse department
Educational & Certification
- High school diploma or GED equivalent with 3-5 years of shipping & receiving / warehouse functions
Software Skills
- A working knowledge of Excel and ERP Systems; IFS preferred
