Position Summary: The Human Resources Coordinator provides guidance, support, and coordination in the consistent and effective application of policies, procedures, and practices of the Human Resources (HR) Department. This position performs a variety of routine, complex, and technical duties in a variety of functional areas including employee benefits, recruiting, records management, reporting, and new hire orientation. This position also serves as the first point of contact for employees and the general public, and performs clerical and administrative duties to contribute to efficient office operations.
Essential Functions:
- Perform all assigned duties safely.
- Ability to exercise a high degree of judgment and discretion and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive and confidential information.
- Proficient troubleshooting skills to resolve issues or problems by analyzing trends and problems, identifying alternative solutions, interpreting compliance documentation, projecting consequences of proposed actions, and communicating and/or implementing recommendations in support of goals and maintaining compliance.
- Ability to write and speak clearly and concisely and to express ideas and recommendations effectively, orally, and in writing.
- Ability and willingness to establish and maintain communication and working relationships with peers, representatives from other agencies, vendors, public officials, and the general public using courtesy, tact, and good judgment.
- Ability to identify and take advantage of opportunities, organize and prioritize several ongoing and frequently changing assignments to meet deadlines.
- Provides administrative support for recordkeeping and reporting.
- Assists the public, employees, managers, and vendors by phone, correspondence, or in-person regarding Human Resources processes, policies, and related procedures, referring to the appropriate HR staff member as needed.
- Creates and conducts surveys, interviews, and other research related to Team Member retention and satisfaction.
- Processes all State Unemployment filings.
- Maintains knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations related to EEO, labor relations, and Human Resources.
- Other reasonably related duties as assigned.

- Ability to stand; walk for extended periods during training program delivery.
- Ability to move equipment/furniture (up to 50 pounds) in support of program set up.
- Good manual dexterity to perform computer and calculator functions.
- Light office duties and activities.
- Ability to speak for long periods of time.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS PREFERRED:
- One (1) to Three (3) years office experience required, and Human Resources experience preferred.
- Excellent oral and written English communication and presentation skills.
- Proficient in computer applications: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook experience.
