What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Design Engineer position at ASSA ABLOY?
We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative New Product Development (NPD) Engineer to join our manufacturing team. The NPD Engineer will play a critical role in designing, developing, and launching new products, from concept through production. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, quality, and marketing, to ensure that new products meet performance, cost, and manufacturing requirements.
Key Responsibilities :
- Product Design and Development :
Lead and contribute to the design and development of new products, ensuring they meet customer needs, safety standards, and manufacturing capabilities.
Work closely with R&D, manufacturing, procurement, marketing, and quality teams to ensure seamless integration of new products into the production line.
Manage the complete product development lifecycle from ideation, prototyping, testing, and iteration to production launch.
Conduct rigorous testing of new products to ensure they meet design and performance specifications, including functional, environmental, and durability tests.
Suggest and implement continuous improvements in product design and manufacturing processes to enhance product quality, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
Qualifications :
3 years of experience in product development or engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Solid understanding of materials, manufacturing and product assembly.
