What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor, Production position at ASSA ABLOY?
Ameristar Perimeter Security is looking for a dynamic individual to join our team as a Production Supervisor. This position will be responsible for the daily operation of the mill that you are assigned too. This includes the safety, quality, cost, manpower and efficiencies of that department and to insure continuous operation during the shift. This will be a 1st shift position.
What you will be doing:
- Safety, quality, priorities above all
- Focus on the keeping the mill equipment and personnel sound and operational
- Maintain clean, safe ,organized work area, 5S
- TPM of equipment
- Accountability of mill personnel, cross training of operators, and production performance measurements.
- Coordinate daily and weekly activities with department manager.
- Keep material movement fluid to not impede production.
- Able to work with maintenance and other area personnel, hands on to get issues resolved in a timely manner
- Focus on mill production efficiency, problem resolution, cost saving opportunities, and scrap reduction initiatives.
The skills and experience you need:
Education:
- High school or equivalent
Experience:
- Experience in using special measuring devices, tape measure, micrometer, calipers.
- Demonstrated ability of record keeping of KPI to understand cost impact of equipment and people within the department.
- Experience with 5S and continuous improvement activities
- Experience with dealing with different levels and back grounds of personnel within the company
- Experience with JDE, Microsoft
- Demonstrated ability to hold production tool box meeting within department and coworkers.
- Experience with PPE, fundamental safety, and OSHA
Other:
- Good communication skills both written and verbal with coworkers to insure continuous flow of the mill
- Good understanding of product knowledge and schedule operations.
- Ability to think and react to schedule changes and conditions on the mill.
- Ability to be a contributing and valued team member for continuous improvement activities.
