Assembled Brands is searching for a high-energy, results-driven VP of Originations to add to its growing revenue team. This individual will be responsible for sourcing, structuring, and closing financing deals with high-growth consumer brands. You’ll be responsible for developing a network of relationships to drive deal flow, build relationships with consumer companies, and help the company hit growth targets. The Originator will also participate in marketing efforts of the firm across content, events, brand building and networking.

• Source, develop, and close credit investments in emerging branded consumer goods companies with the team’s and credit committee approval. You will be expected to build and manage your own prioritized pipeline that will enable you to meet or exceed the company’s goals. 

• Shepherd deals through initial identification, preliminary analysis, credit committee preliminary approval, term sheet negotiation, due diligence, legal documentation, to deal management and portfolio monitoring. Assist others in shepherding others deals through the process as well. 

• Build and maintain strong relationships with the office of the CFO and/or Founders at consumer companies to drive awareness of Assembled Brands and its core product offerings. 

• Drive strategic outreach, leveraging industry networks, attend local and national events, and instill partnerships to source qualified leads.

• Collaborate with credit and underwriting teams to ensure deals meet risk criteria, participate on the credit committee for preliminary and final investment approval

• Manage your own pipeline within Assembled’s CRM, provide accurate and up to date reporting and statuses on your specific opportunities, collaborate in team discussions, and assist other team members to help move deals through funnel in a timely manner.

• Provide a smooth transition of newly originated deals to the underwriting team with up to date qualitative information. Help maintain ongoing check-ins as the lead on each specific deal. Loop in necessary team members as needed if any issues or disputes arise.

• Bring a founder’s mentality - willing to hustle, iterate, and go above and beyond to drive effective growth.

• 4 years of experience in sales, business development in banking, lending and / or B2B sales, specifically selling finance solutions, SaaS, or services to CPG brands.

• Experience selling to the Office of the CFO - you understand their mindset, pain points, and decision-making process

• Strong financial acumen - able to read and interpret financial statements or willingness to learn quickly

• Deep understanding of the CPG industry related to sales, assets, cash flow, inventory, financing structure, growth tactics, etc.

• Ability to identify, prospect, and close new business opportunities within the consumer packaged goods (CPG) sector.

• Ability to work cross-functionally with credit, underwriting, and risk teams

• Experience using Hubspot to track sales activity and manage own pipeline

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with a strong drive to meet and exceed both personal & team targets

• Willing to travel occasionally to attend events
